Recital cellist

A recital last month in Pennsylvania.  The cellist didn't okay the post so I will preserve her anonymity.

Sitting at the cafe in the new improved Alice Tully it's really only a matter of time:  A quick coffee and boom -- out the window, my cellist quarry, getting away.  Here for an audition or gig, or leaving town for same, this cellist was moving fast.  I caught up to him going past Avery Fisher Hall, then crossing the street.  Pictures posted backwards... ah, Blogger!

The Best Siting Spot!

A few minutes spent at the park just south of Barnes & Noble at 66th Street usually yields a cello.  I almost missed this one, though.

At the Time Warner Center:  I asked if I could take her picture and she said "what for?"  --For fun!  Love that cello and cell phone match.

And sometimes I ask, sometimes it's stealth.  Fashion is where you find it and I've discovered that a cellist's case and way of toting it can be a true fashion statement.   I aspire to be the Bill Cunningham of street cello photography!

Break Of Reality

Spotted this group in the park south of the Lincoln Center Barnes & Noble.  Little did I know they were the Rochester-based group Break of Reality that I was to hear the next night in Brooklyn.  Amazing sound!

A festival of cello music last year in Williamsport.  There's more than the Little League World Series there.

Subway cellist

Pretty cellist in the subway, with matching bag & shoes!  Lincoln Center area is rife with cellos but they're everywhere, including underground.
